WORLD CUP: A PRODUCT MANAGER'S PERSPECTIVE

Written by Aidan

Product Manager - Sports Digital

Meet Aidan - Product Manager in our Malta office location. He tells us about his area and experience working with us during the World Cup!

What’s your Tipico story?

I first started at Tipico as a graduate trainee, working within several different departments in the Tipico organization. This gave me a solid understanding of the sports betting industry and how Tipico was run as an organization.

Eventually, it led me to joining the product management team, with which I worked on several different product pillars. I am currently working in Sports Digital where we ensure we provide the best user experience to our customers in Germany & Austria.

WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY PITCH LOOK LIKE?

A typical day for me starts with aligning with our internal product teams and external stakeholders, both on our strategic objectives and corresponding product deliverables.
This naturally involves a lot of synchronization and follow ups on any product releases
that happen on a weekly basis. The scope is to always ensure that whatever we deliver is maximizing the user’s experience while using our product.

Tell us about working with us during the World Cup...

We prioritize and emphasize product features that better our users’ experience during the world cup. This starts by providing a solid user onboarding journey for customers where it might be their first time interacting with the product during this year’s world cup. Our goal would be to guide and facilitate the user’s decision-making process to make it as simple as possible.
Simultaneously we deliver improvements and new features centered around the world cup theme to keep our customers as engaged as possible within the product.

What do you enjoy most and what are the challenges during this period?

The world cup is the most prestigious football tournament in the world and hence drives a lot of excitement and activity for both existing and new customers.

The matches are always fun to follow, since all the teams give it their all to win the most coveted football cup. The most challenging aspects of the world cup is to keep the product stable while still ensuring that we remain the best experience on the market, in terms of features and ease of use.
