WHAT’S YOUR TIPICO STORY?
I was living in US and looking for opportunities back in Europe. An old University friend told me about Tipico and Karlsruhe, that’s when the magic happened. The past 3 years here have been an amazing experience, and I am grateful and blessed to be part of Tipico as a Product Manager.
WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST IMPRESSION OF TIPICO?
Tipico is not only the industry leader in Germany, but also has the best people working from team members to managers, everyone supports you throughout your onboarding journey, and shares a passion to be and stay, the best both individually and as one team.
WHAT HAVE BEEN YOUR BEST MOMENTS WORKING HERE?
The highlight has been the Euro Cup in Germany which generated incredible interest in our product and enormous traffic in our systems. It has been like a once-in-a-lifetime experience to test our systems and processes end-to-end under pressure; identify improvements and implement them on the go! Also, I have to mention our regular company events. We love to celebrate success and have fun together!
WHAT CHALLENGES DO YOU FACE?
I expected that living in Germany without knowing German to be. Luckily, Tipico as a company, HR, and all my team members helped me with my adaptation period, and made it as easy as possible. In recent years, Germany has become a heavily regulated market for iGaming and Sportsbetting. That comes with its challenges for the business and product that we need to solve timely, which I love to be part of.
WHAT IS SPECIAL ABOUT TIPICO?
A lot of things… But what I love most is the culture and people I work with. When we all come together and focus on a target, Tipico becomes unstoppable. I have seen this multiple times during the last 3 years. We are here to win, and will never settle for less.
WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY PITCH LOOK LIKE?
My day involves balancing between: ensuring the product is running smoothly, collaborating with our tech teams to build the next immediate features, and planning the future together with all groups and leadership.
WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO?
I am looking forward to settling more in Karlsruhe as a family with my wife and our 3 year old daughter. And also waiting for my little one to start teaching me German.
AS YOU KNOW WE LOVE SPORTS.. WHICH IS YOUR FAVOURITE?
I love biking and I’m currently enjoying my peloton and getting ready to be back on the road sometime next spring. I also like watching football (some calls it soccer) and basketball.
WHAT IS YOUR ONE PIECE OF ADVICE FOR ANYONE INTERESTED IN BEING PART OF OUR GAME?
In Tipico, we really live our values and love Maximising Spannung! To me, the cultural fit is what matters most here. So I would say be yourself, show your passion and what drives you internally, these are the key elements.
