WHAT’S YOUR TIPICO STORY?
Hi, I’m Karl and was born and raised in Malta. My background is based on multiple professions, the main one being Logistics with a family business for the past 7 years. We dealt with the importation of goods worldwide and supplying to well-known restaurants and supermarkets across Malta. I also worked on a part-time basis with a cab company. This was a kind of hobby for me, driving around and meeting people and different cultures. On the 27th of September 2021 I joined Tipico as a Verification Agent.
WHAT’S YOUR DAILY PITCH LIKE?
Well, working with a team of agents aiming for one goal to reach success feels amazing. We normally start our day planning our day head and distributing our tasks. Everyone has their responsibilities, from handling queries from Tipico customers, payments carried out or managing documentation along with daily tasks handed over to us by our Team Leader.
WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO JOIN OUR #ONETEAM?
It took me a few months since I was still undecided. However, after carrying out some research about Gaming, gathering information and feedback from friends who work in the Industry, they all seemed to point to Tipico and I decided that it was the right move. Today, I must say, without any hesitation, that I do not regret it. Tipico respects and works hard at investing highly in us and makes our work day an enjoyable one. There is a focus on teamwork to ensure harmony whilst working in a great environment where I can get my job done effectively and efficiently reaching expectations.
WHAT WAS THE BEST MOMENT OF YOUR RECRUITMENT EXPERIENCE?
I was really happy that the company offered me the chance to join. The recruitment and onboarding was professional and efficient. My first interview was carried out over the phone and the other was with my potential Team Leader and Recruiter from the HR department. Due to an increase in Covid cases, the Management informed us that the offices will be closed and barely 24 hours had passed since I started and I was working remotely. The transition went well, with no impact whatsoever on the day-to-day business. We were kept in the loop through communication, business updates and meetings were all done via Slack, as they say, “The show must go on”.
WHAT IS SPECIAL ABOUT TIPICO?
Here at Tipico we all work as a team, help each other, and enjoy ever experience together.
As expected, challenges do occur. However, my team members are always ready to share and show their support to help without hesitation. The values are there, you can really see them throughout the day. Teamwork is key for the success of Tipico as well as us as individuals. This goes hand in hand in us being one team to reach one goal - Satisfaction together with Success.
WHAT WAS SURPRISING, ONCE YOU STARTED WORKING HERE?
Keeping in mind, when I started - what surprised me was that the company took the Covid – 19 situation seriously and acted immediately in a professional way. As I already mentioned, working remotely in such a short time without disrupting operations. This showed me that the company puts their employees first and cares for them with the main priority being health, safety, and well-being of us all. For this, I am grateful towards the company.
AS YOU KNOW, WE BELIEVE IN PROGRESS. HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOURS SINCE YOU’VE BEEN WORKING HERE?
As I mentioned, I had no experience whatsoever in the industry. However, Tipico started with the training process in supporting me to better understand the company’s expectations, explaining the GDPR regulations and the importance of teamwork especially during busy periods for example World cup, Champions League and Europa League.
