IFR MALTA CHAMPIONS CUP
Looking back at this year… Sports are part of our DNA - they unite us, challenge us, and give us moments to celebrate. This year, we proudly participated in the IFR Champions Cup, an opportunity to come together and live our values, on and off the field. Hear more from our team members about what it meant to them.
What was the highlight of the tournament?
Mohamed: The weather was perfect for a day of football – bright and sunny. We all really enjoyed ourselves, displayed team spirit, and made sure to play fair.
Reuben: I would say, getting to know the team better was a highlight, especially some of the players I hadn’t met before. It was great to finally put faces to names and connect outside of work.
What was the most exciting match?
Mohamed: The third match with ComeOn B was the most exciting. We were already ahead before half-time with a score of 3 – 0, and won with a score of 5 – 1 in the end!
Reuben: The match against Bet365: we lost 3 – 2, but it was a balanced game with plenty of close chances on both sides. It felt like either team could’ve taken it, definitely one of the most exciting matches of the tournament.
What was one of the challenges?
Mohamed: It was our first time playing together, so we didn’t know each other’s strengths and weaknesses, but we still managed to do very well.
Reuben: Definitely playing two matches back-to-back was a challenge. And of course, the heat didn’t make it any easier.
What did you take away from this experience, and what do you look forward to for future events?
Mohamed: I hope we get the opportunity to play more with each other so that we can strengthen our team.
Reuben: My takeaway was that teamwork really makes the difference, on the pitch and off. And for next time, we’re definitely aiming to go even further.
The IFR Champion’s Cup was more than just a tournament – it was a chance to grow as a team, compete with passion, and represent Tipico with pride. We’re already looking ahead to the next challenge. The trophy? We’ve got our eyes on it.
